The Bible Society in New Zealand head office and warehouse were previously located in Wellington. Over a period of several years Wright & Gray Architects advised the BSNZ board on challenging questions about the condition and future of the Wellington building and the best strategic location for the premises. We recommended sale of the Wellington building and relocation to the South Auckland area. Key drivers were proximity to the major airfreight hub and an ideal location for staff. A warehouse/office building was purchased in Wiri, close to Auckland Airport, and the sale of the Wellington building was successfully concluded.

This project combined two adjacent units with office and warehousing located together. For reasons of economy, as much of the existing layout as possible was kept. The design focused on a few key areas to create a flexible building.

• A series of storage rooms were upgraded and linked by a glazed corridor to provide a series of new meeting rooms.

• A former storage area was upgraded to allow additional desks

• The building was reroofed and repainted.

• The office and meeting areas were refreshed with new lighting, carpets and paint colours.
