A Horowhenua District Council development of 40 new pensioner housing units on a greenfield site in Levin to provide housing for those in most need.
The designs were resolved with resident consultation to assess their needs, and extensive research into best-practice design to include:
- Careful planning within a small floor area
- Sheltered and private outdoor areas for each unit
- Good orientation for sun to living areas and bedrooms with high levels of insulation, heat pumps
- A variety of colours and materials
- A landscaped, park-like setting
